Thank you. Probably not as extreme as your ice storms but the winter of 2012/13, when this was taken, was certainly very, very cold.

Amazing-the frost really changes the look of an area. In the Bleak Mid Winter is a fav of mine my son used to sing it in local church.

It does indeed change the look of an area, it also has the capacity to change mood. I feel far happier on a crisp frosty day than on a damp dismal day and if the sun comes out it's even better ... not that there was much sun around when this photo was taken!! It was incredibly cold too. I too love 'In the Bleak Mid Winter' I used to sing it in my school choir and now, many, many years later I sing in the village choir and this often crops up in our annual Christmas concert. Many thanks for commenting.

We have been quite lucky up here and the weather has been kind to us thus far but I don't expect it to last. I have never had a great singing voice but love listening to a choir- Christmas is such a special time for so many. Take care Pam- I enjoy our wee chats. Mary Love

We're having topsy turvy weather here: one day freezing fog, the next 10 degrees C! I too enjoy our chats. Look forward to the next one! :D

Magnificent, it alsmost speaks to me of a lunar landscape.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I see where you're coming from: sort of cold and eerie and the foreground looks unfriendly and uninviting! Perhaps a tree or two too many??!! Watching 'Lord of the Rings' is the closest I've been to seeing the New Zealand scenery but, I think perhaps you could find fantastic lunarish landscapes there? I shall expect you to produce evidence!! Keep me posted :D

I shall put on my space suit and keep my eyes open.

I don't think you can ever have too many trees. :D

In that case you should watch out for the men in white coats as well!! ;-)
No you can never have too many trees, well... not on earth!
